Privacy
Last updated: October 29, 2026. Oxide builds local-first creator tools. We collect as little as possible.
Oxide Preview (Chrome extension)
Oxide Preview lets you compare YouTube thumbnail frames on mock surfaces inside a Chrome side panel.
- Images stay on your device. Thumbnails you drop or choose are read locally in the browser (object URLs). They are not uploaded to Oxide servers or any third party by the extension.
- No account required. The extension does not ask you to sign in.
- Permissions. The extension uses the Chrome
sidePanelpermission so it can open its UI from the toolbar. It does not request access to your browsing history, YouTube account, or file system beyond the files you explicitly select. - No selling of data. We do not sell personal information. Preview does not include advertising SDKs or third-party trackers in the extension package.
Website (oxidehq.com)
Visiting oxidehq.com may create normal web server and hosting logs (for example IP address, user agent, and pages requested) operated by our hosting provider. We use these only to run and secure the site—not to build marketing profiles from Preview thumbnail files (those never leave your machine via the extension).
Children
Oxide Preview is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
